The Department of Social Services will receive <br /> additional State and Federal funds . These funds will be <br /> used to implement a mandated expansion in the Medicaid <br /> and AFDC Public Assistance programs . The funds to be <br /> budgeted for this expansion total $19 , 044 . The Department <br /> will receive $9 , 004 in Federal funds ; $9 , 004 in State <br /> funds and the remaining $1 , 036 (currently budgeted County <br /> funds) will be transferred Within the agency ' s existing <br /> budget . The additional revenue will be used to fund the <br /> two Eligibility Specialist I positions that were approved <br /> by the Board on November 17 , 1987 . <br /> 2 . The Health Department will receive an allocation from the <br /> N.C . Division of Health Services . These funds will be used <br /> -- __ _ to develop and implement a health promotion program through <br /> creation of a Program Coordinator position ; purchase of <br /> medical equipment and supplies and the use of agency clerical <br /> services . The Department will receive a total of $17 , 462 <br /> and no County match will be required . <br /> 3 . The Department of Social Services will receive , from the <br /> State, a reallocation of $111 , 916 for Day Care expenditures . <br /> The additional revenue will be used, along with the <br /> Contingency funds that were released on October 20 , 1987 , <br /> to continue the Day Care program. <br /> 4 . The Department of Social Services will' receive , =from the <br /> State , a reallocation of $2 , 713 for the Energy Assistance <br /> Crisis Intervention program. These funds are 100% State <br /> funds ; no County match is required . <br /> 5 . The Department of Social Services will receive from the <br /> Triangle J Council of Government , a Respite Care Grant <br />
