The Animal Control <br /> Task Force, on April 16, 1987, made several recommendations to <br /> the Board of Commissioners regarding the Program. In part, <br /> they recommend that: <br /> - Animal Control should have division status with the Health <br /> Department; <br /> - A professionally trained and experienced Director of <br /> Animal Control should be hired; <br /> - A comprehensive Ordinance be adopted and enforced; <br /> - A comprehensive public education program be implemented; <br /> - An accessible and affordable spay/neuter program be <br /> established; <br /> - Incentives for pet population control and ordinance <br /> compliance be offered; and <br /> - Sufficient staff, facilities and equipment be provided. <br />
