Byrd, Area Jail Consultant <br /> from the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, inspected the <br /> Orange County Jail. A copy of the inspection is enclosed for your <br /> review. <br /> After reviewing all information regarding the Orange County Jail, it <br /> is quite obvious that corrective action must be initiated <br /> immediately. Accordingly, we need from you a proposed plan of <br /> corrective action for alleviating the overcrowded conditions which <br /> exist in the Orange County Jail. Your plan of action should address <br /> all deficiencies noted in the attached inspection report. Also in <br /> this response, indicate the time frames which are proposed for <br /> completing the various phases of the plan. <br /> Please furnish the Jail and Detention Branch the cited corrective <br /> action plan by October 21 , 1987.
