This item was presented at <br /> public hearing on August 24, 1987 . <br /> BACKGROUND: Section IV-B-3-c-10 is a new paragraph in the Subdivision <br /> Regulations. It would place restrictions on the number and <br /> location of driveways that will be allowed in new <br /> subdivisions . The amendment is intended to provide more <br /> control on the number and location of driveways along major <br /> roads, thereby reducing the number of conflicts between <br /> through traffic and turning vehicles, and maintaining the <br /> safety and traffic carrying capacity of major roads. <br /> The Planning Board met on October 19 , 1987 and recommended <br /> approval of the proposed amendment with minor revisions to <br /> clarify the meaning of the amendment. <br /> RECOMMENDATION : The Administration recommends approval of the proposed <br /> amendment as recommended by the Planning Board . <br />
