This is consistent <br /> with the concern that additional development <br /> will create the conflicts cited above. <br /> EXISTING ORDINANCE PROVISIONS : <br /> 1V-B-3-c-8 Marginal Access Streets <br /> Where a subdivision adjoins a heavily <br /> traveled street, in the interest of highway <br /> safety, the subdivider may be required to <br /> provide either a marginal access street <br /> parallel to said heavily traveled street or <br /> reverse frontage on a smaller street. Where <br /> access is available to any internal subdivi- <br /> sion street, whether by reverse frontage or <br /> other lot arrangement, private driveways <br /> shall not have direct access to said heavily <br /> traveled street. It is the intent of this <br /> section to minimize the number of points of <br /> egress and ingress to main roads within <br /> Orange County. <br /> PROPOSED AMENDMENT: <br /> IV-B-3-c-8 Access_ Restrictions <br /> Where a subdivision adjoins a street classi - <br /> fied_ as arterial or collector in the Orango <br /> County Land_ Use Plan, in the interest of <br /> highway safety, the subdivider may be <br /> required to provide a common driveways a <br /> marginal access street parallel to the <br /> arterial or collector, or reverse frontage <br /> on a smaller street whert the only access to <br /> the subdivision will _be from an arterial or <br /> collector and when the arterial of cgjlector <br /> that the subdivision will access has a <br /> traffic volume of more than 5,000 vehicles <br /> count.
