It cited <br /> lack of a dedicated right-of-way and <br /> insufficient road frontage for Piney Mountain <br /> subdivision on Mt. Sinai Road as reasons for <br /> the change in recommendation. The following <br /> were instead recommended : <br /> 1 . One hundred ( 100) foot right turn taper <br /> on SR 1718. <br /> 2. Increase dedicated right-of-way to forty <br /> (40 ) feet from centerline for future road <br /> expansion. <br /> 3. Increase driveway width to thirty-six <br /> (36) feet to accommodate three (3) twelve <br /> ( 12) foot lanes. <br /> October 5_, 1987 : NCDOT notified the Planning <br /> Department that the thirty-six foot wide <br /> driveway into Piney Mountain subdivision was <br /> no longer required. The applicant had <br /> submitted a revised subdivision entrance <br /> eliminating the divided driveway.
