Among the conditions was the <br /> following: <br /> (4) Provide a left turn lane off Mt. Sinai Road with the <br /> final approval of Phase One. <br /> The applicant has submitted a request for a revision to the <br /> preliminary plan approval - to remove condition 14. <br /> Condition 14 resulted from a requirement in NCDOT' s initial <br /> response to Piney Mountain. The Planning Department <br /> subsequently received a series of letters from NCDOT which <br /> form the basis for both the original requirement for a left <br /> turn lane and the applicant's present request. The letters <br /> are summarized as follows. <br /> July 16, 1987: NCDOT response to subdivision review. <br /> NCDOT offered the following comments: <br /> 1 . Sight distance is adequate. <br />
