I/7
Joint Planning Area----Fox Meadow Subdivision 087
October 19, 1987
Page 2
Another issue which we discussed is the attractiveness; of
the Fox Meadow Subdivision for annexation by either town. The
planning directors generally felt that the Fox Meadow Subdivision
is currently not attractive for annexation due in part to the
fact that the subdivision is not served b
facilities and also to the fact that the public existing water
48 lots re sew
spread out over 51 acres of land.
A final issue concerned the perception that an adjustment to
the "line" now would set a precedent for further adjustments.
The planning directors felt that the line should be maintained in
its present location and not adjusted especially in response to
instances where Individuals would rather be on one side or the
other.
In conclusion, I would recommend that the line dividing the
Chapel Hill and Carrboro Joint Development Review Areas remain in
its present location as shown by "Exhibit A" running along Rogers
Road. If the Board wishes to partially address the concerns -
expressed by the Fox Meadow residents; then the intent expressed
by the Board of Aldermen to not consider annexation of the Fox
Meadow Subdivision over the next ten
Attached is a resolution for the Board sa con ideration rentitled
"A Resolution of Intent to Delay' Consideration of Annexing the
Fox Meadow Subdivision" . This offer of intent will not satisfy
the concerns of the Fox Meadow Subdivision but under the
circumstances will show a good faith effort by the Town of
Carrboro.
RMW/jes
attach.
