Williford <br /> Planning & Economic D elopment Director <br /> DATE: October 19, 1987-= - <br /> RE: Joint Planning .Area---Fox Meadow Subdivision <br /> Residents of the Fox Meadow Subdivision located off of <br /> Rogers Road attended the October 14, 1987 public hearing on the <br /> Joint planning area agreement to voice their desire to remain in <br /> the county's jurisdiction or if annexed to become <br /> part of Chael <br /> Hill rather than Carrboro. A couple of methods for achieving <br /> their wishes include: 1) keeping Fox Meadow in the rural buffer, <br /> or 2) shifting the "Joint Development Review area line to the _ <br /> west; thereby locating Fox Meadow in Chapel Hill 's area rather <br /> than Carrboro's area. <br /> On Monday, October 19, 1987, Mr. Ken Meardon, representing <br /> the Fox Meadow Subdivision, met with me and the Planning <br /> directors of Orange County and Chapel Hill to review the concerns <br /> expressed by the residents of the subdivision in relation to the <br /> joint planning process and agreement. Considerable discussion <br /> centered on the time and effort dedicated by Chapel Hill, <br /> Carrboro and Orange County to the establishment of a mutually <br /> agreeable line. The "line" was first established by the first <br /> Joint Planning area agreement adopted by both Chapel Hill and <br /> Orange County on- October 8, 1984 and has remained in place since <br /> that time. The Fox Meadow Subdivision, <br /> oninterestingly enough, was <br /> y at about the same time that the line was first <br /> established.
