The Town of Hillsborough currently has no regulations V <br /> its zoning ordinance which apply to the MajoTransportat. <br /> Corridors (MTC) of 1-40 and 1 -85 . The Orange Cou <br /> Subdivision Regulations apply buffer and landscape standaruz <br /> to new subdivisions which are similar to and achieve the <br /> same effect as the MTC provisions within its zoning <br /> ordinance. <br /> Wake County has initiated a procedure whereby it re uires <br /> p <br /> municipalities to adopt certain regulations q <br /> of additional extraterritorial jurisdictionby� or to role ntse <br /> The procedure has been applied twice, both involving MTC <br /> requirements. Given the lack <br /> Hillsborough ordinances, and since uthe Initiative tforn the the <br /> preparation and adoption of subdivision regulations was the <br /> application of buffer standards along 1 -85 , a similar <br /> procedure as applied to the release of subdivision <br /> regulation administration to Hillsborough appears warranted. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Town of Hillsborough <br /> informed that Orange County ronquish <br /> administration Y will agree to relinquish <br /> Regulations within the nfTown melimits f and iextraturritirial <br /> zoning jurisdiction upon adoption of the Town 's subdivision <br /> regulations under the following conditions : <br /> ( 1 ) The Town- provides Orange County with the opportunity <br /> rev-1 ew-and..r_comment on the_ ns to <br /> adoption ; and Pr o posed._r.egula#_ions prior <br /> (2) The Town_-adopts and incorporates- into _Its zoning <br /> ordinance. and subdivision- regulations design standards <br /> appiicab-le 'wHthin the Major Transportation Corridors of <br /> 1-85 and 1-40 and which meet, -as---.. a- - minimum, - the <br /> Recommendations-- for pas is-- -Des I n <br /> Interstate 40= y <br /> as b g Standards along <br /> the TJCOG Regional Image TaskForce. l`40 Subcommittee of <br />
