Subdivision Regulations . The Board of Commissioners agreed to the release on June 16, 1987 under the following 082 conditions : ( 1 ) The Town provides Orange County with the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed regulations prior to adoption ; and (2 ) The Town adopts and incorporates into its zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations design standards applicable within the Major Transportation Corridors of 1 -85 and 1 -40 and which meet, as a minimum, the Recommended Minimum Design Standards for the Interstate 40 Corridor and Other Controlled Access Highways as approved by the Triangle J Board of Delegates on May 27, 1987 . The Town has not yet provided Orange County with an opportunity to review the proposed regulations other than a rough draft presented to the Planning Director . The release of jurisdiction would not alter other services currently performed by Orange County at the request of the Town ; i . e. , administration and enforcement of the N . C. State Building Code and the Orange County Sedimentation and Erosion Control Ordinance. G. S . 160A-360 (g ) contains the statutory authority under which the County assumed responsibility for enforcement of its Subdivision Regulations within the Town ' s jurisdiction . The same statutory citation identifies the procedure by which the release of jurisdictional authority may be accomplished . At its October 13 meeting, the Planning Board recommended that Orange County not relinquish administration and enforcement of its Subdivision Regulations within the Town limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction until such time as the above conditions have been met. RECOMMENDATION : The Administration recommends approval of the Planning Board recommendation and further recommends that the Town of Hillsborough be notified of this position prior to the October 27 public hearing .
