S . 160A-360 <br /> 10/13/87 Draft Planning Board Minutes <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS : <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE : Consideration of a request by the Town of Hillsborough for <br /> Orange County to relinquish administration of its <br /> Subdivision Regulations within the Town ' s planning and <br /> zoning jurisdiction . <br /> BACKGROUND : On June 2, 1980 , the Town of Hillsborough formally requested <br /> that Orange County enforce the County Subdivision <br /> Regulations within the Town limits and extraterritorial <br /> zoning jurisdiction . The Board of Commissioners approved the <br /> request. <br /> Since June of 1980, subdivision activity within the Town ' s <br /> corporate limits and extraterritorial zoning jurisdiction <br /> has been limited (3-5 applications per year ) . Likewise, <br /> revenues collected from application fees have been minimal , <br /> ranging from $630 to $1050 annually . <br /> The Town Board now feels the Town is ready to adopt and <br /> enforce its own Subdivision Regulations , a draft of which <br /> will be reviewed by the Town Board at its October 19, 1987 <br /> meeting. A public hearing regarding the regulations has been <br /> scheduled for October 27 , 1987 . The Town, by way of a letter <br /> from Mayor Frank Sheffield, has officially requested that <br /> Orange County release to the Town of Hillsborough the <br /> administration and enforcement responsibilities for the <br /> Subdivision Regulations . <br /> The request follows a June 9, 1987 proposal by the Town that <br /> Orange County release control of enforcement of the <br />
