044 These funds, for example, can be used for construction <br /> of a garage, shelters, and bus stops. Application for <br /> Section 18 funding must be submitted Spring 1988. A <br /> DOT representative is scheduled to come in December <br /> and this matter will be assessed further at that time. <br /> b) Request expansion of the Chapel Hill Transit System. <br /> c) Explore the development of a Regional Transportation <br /> System, recognizing that with the completion of I-40, <br /> inter-county transportation (Orange and Durham) may be <br /> needed. <br /> d) Establish and coordinate a Park and Ride Program. <br /> Staff will report it's findings and options Spring, 1988. <br /> Task Force Recommendation Seven <br /> This recommendation addresses the issue of home ownership for <br /> low and moderate income persons and the proposed remedies will <br /> be reflected in options presented for recommendations one and <br /> three. <br /> Task Force Recommendation Eight <br /> 1. The Ordinance Review Subcommittee will be asked to review <br /> the Zoning Ordinance regarding any sections that may <br /> hamper the development of necessary facilities such as <br /> family care homes, group homes, transition homes, and <br /> community shelters. <br /> 2 . Other suggested activities incorporated in the <br /> recommendation will be reviewed and reflected in the <br /> February 12th report to the Manager. <br /> Task Force Recommendation Nine <br /> Suggested Activities incorporated in this recommendation will <br /> be reviewed and reflected in the February 12th report. <br /> Task Force Recommendation Ten <br /> The Economic Development Commission Director will contact the <br /> Housing Task Force Chairperson to seek clarification on this <br /> matter. In addition, the team will explore the feasibility of <br /> a Demonstration Project - Modular and/or Low Cost Cluster <br /> homes for the Elderly. Details on this idea will be presented <br /> in the February 12th report. <br />
