- ---- <br /> O R A N G E C O U N T Y <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 00 <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date October 2Qt 1987 _ <br /> Action enda <br /> Item # _ <br /> SUBJECT: MORIAH HILL ROAD AND TIMBERLY DRIVE - ASSESSMENT ROLL <br /> DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING X _Yes No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S ) : INFORMATION CONTACT: Eddie Kirk <br /> PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT ROLL <br /> CERTIFICATE OF MAILING <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS : <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE : To receive public comment on the Preliminary Assessment Roll <br /> for Moriah Hill Road (SR 1881 ) and Timberly Drive (SR 1749 ) . <br /> To confirm the Final Assessment Roll for the project. <br /> BACKGROUND: Public input on the Preliminary Assessment Roll , filed with <br /> the Clerk to the Board and containing a tax description of <br /> each parcel of land to be assessed, the basis for the <br /> assessment, the amount assessed against each parcel of land, <br /> the terms of payment and the name of the owner of each <br /> parcel as can be ascertained from County tax records, is <br /> necessary to complete the program procedures for the <br /> project. <br /> The Clerk to the Board has filed a Certificate of Mailing <br /> which certifies that the notices of this public hearing and <br /> notices of individual assessments were mailed on or before <br /> October 9, 1987 . <br /> The amount to be assessed includes the local share of the <br /> construction costs and project administrative costs . The <br /> combined total specified on the adopted Assessment Resolu- <br /> tion is $34,915 . 16. <br /> Upon close of the public hearing and confirmation of the <br /> Assessment Roll for the project, the Board can direct that <br /> the Assessment Roll be delivered to the Orange County Tax <br /> Collector for collection . <br /> RECOMMENDATION : The Administration recommends : <br /> Confirm the Assessment Roll . <br /> Accept the Certificate of Mailing offered by the Clerk. <br /> Direct the Tax Collector to collect the assessment. <br />
