The Staff recognized the <br /> Board of Commissioners action and accepted the rezoning <br /> request. <br /> Pilkey asked if it was really necessary to cut down the <br /> three large sycamore trees along US 70 . She also asked if <br /> the County had approved plans that resulted in the trees <br /> removal . Szymik responded that removal of the trees was <br /> necessary in order to meet NCDOT design requirements. The <br /> original rezoning of the property did not include a develop- <br /> ment plan . A detailed Master Plan for Development (con- <br /> tained in the agenda) was prepared subsequent to the <br /> rezoning resulted in road locations which when constructed <br /> to NCDOT standards required the removal of the trees . Szymik responded that the Town had still not clearly <br /> demonstrated availability of sewer .
