123 S1ooe Ana 1 Tsi� <br /> The Meadowlands' topography is rolling with slopes averaging zero to ten percent over <br /> approximately eighty percent of the site. The remaining twenty percent of the site is <br /> comprised of steeper areas around the existing drainageways and at the corners of the site <br /> cut for the highway. Very little area has slopes over fifteen percent; therefore, the entire site <br /> can be developed utilizing good construction practices. <br /> A slope of zero to five percent is considered flat and is very good for developing large <br /> structures and parking lots. Approximately thirty percent of the site is comprised of these <br /> flatter slopes. A slope of five to ten percent is considered a gentle slope. These areas are <br /> good for parking lots, roadways and walkways. Approximately fifty percent of the site contains <br /> these gentle slopes. A slope of ten to twenty-five percent is considered a moderate slope. <br /> These areas can best be used as open space or transition areas between development. <br /> Because they contain much of the site's existing vegetation, these areas should be retained <br /> wherever possible. <br /> A slope of zero to ten percent is considered ideal for development with only slight limitations. <br /> Slopes of ten to twenty-five percent are considered satisfactory for development with <br /> moderate alterations or special planning necessary for development. Slopes of twenty-five <br /> percent and greater are considered poor development potential areas. Only with special <br /> engineering requirements or a great deal of alterations to the existing terrain can these steep <br /> slope areas be developed.
