044 <br /> toward completion of the permanent Cane Creek Reservoir on <br /> the lands it has acquired for this purpose; and <br /> WHEREAS , Orange County has been informed by the <br /> Authority that the permanent Cane Creek Reservoir will <br /> impound lake waters over and across a portion of S.R. 1100 <br /> and over and across a portion of S.R. 1116, and the Authority <br /> has acquired those lands adjacent to the said portions of <br /> those roadways which will be flooded, and has compensated <br /> owners of nearby lands for factors relating to any <br /> inconvenience which may be caused by closing of the said <br /> portions of the roadways which will be flooded, and those <br /> owners have agreed, therefore, that they will not oppose the <br /> closing of those roads as herein requested; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County has been informed by the <br /> Authority that in order to permit the completion of <br /> construction and operation of the Cane Creek Reservoir <br /> Project, and to assure the protection of the quality of the <br /> waters of the Cane Creek Reservoir, and thus to serve the <br /> best interests of the citizens of Orange County by <br /> augmentation and protection of the public water supply <br /> available to serve its citizens, it is essential that those <br /> portions of S.R. 1100 and S.R. 1116, which will be flooded by <br /> the impoundment of the permanent Cane Creek Reservoir, be <br /> abandoned and closed between the boundaries of the property <br /> acquisition lines of the Authority's lands; and <br /> 2 <br />
