ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> 306F REVERE ROAD <br /> HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br /> August 27, 1987 <br /> Gary McDevitt <br /> Rt. 2, Box 656-B <br /> Chapel Hill , NC 27514 <br /> Dear Mr. McDevitt: <br /> Thank you for your comments to the County Commissioners at <br /> the Public Hearing on August 24, 1987 . <br /> The situation you brought to our attention regarding Sandy <br /> Road has been investigated by Planning Staff . The two <br /> residents who use the access known as Sandy Road (Mrs. <br /> Clements and Mr . Loftin ) expressed no strong feelings <br /> concerning assignment of address numbers to either University <br /> Station Road or Sandy Road. Their main concern is ready <br /> access by 911 facilities. Both properties have some frontage <br /> on University Station Road, and in-as-much as our tax maps <br /> showed only an unnamed easement where Sandy Road is located, <br /> a University Station Road number was assigned . Additionally, <br /> no road sign exists noting the private road ' s name, and the <br /> residents do not want to incur the expense of erecting one. <br /> Therefore, Planning Staff feels these two residents would <br /> best be served by utilizing the University Station Road <br /> address assigned them . <br /> Sincerely, <br /> r <br /> Don Powell <br /> Planner <br /> DP/dmg <br />
