S. 160A-360 <br /> Certificate of Mai l ing <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS : <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE : To receive citizen comment on the rezoning of property <br /> affected by the revision of the Town of Mebane <br /> Extraterritorial Zoning Jurisdiction . <br /> BACKGROUND: The Town of Mebane has revised its Extraterritorial Zoning <br /> Jurisdiction limits to follow property lines. As a result, <br /> parcels of land that were divided between Mebane and Orange <br /> County zoning will be placed entirely within Mebane ' s zoning <br /> Jurisdiction or within Orange County ' s zoning jurisdiction. <br /> For those parcels that will be placed entirely under <br /> Mebane 's Jurisdiction, it will be necessary for Orange <br /> County to relinquish its jurisdiction. This will be done by <br /> separate action. For those parcels that will be placed <br /> entirely under Orange County ' s Jurisdiction, it will be <br /> necessary to zone them in accordance with Orange County ' s <br /> Zoning Ordinance . <br /> Seventeen ( 17 ) parcels of land that are presently split <br /> between Town of Mebane zoning and Orange County zoning would <br /> be placed entirely under Orange County zoning. The County <br /> proposes to extend its existing zoning classification over <br /> the remainder of each parcels. For those parcels that are <br /> presently zoned AR (Agricultural Residential ) by Orange <br /> County, AR zoning would be extended to the portion of the <br /> parcel previously zoned by the Town of Mebane . For those <br /> parcels that are presently zoned R-1 (Rural Residential ) by <br /> Orange County, R-1 zoning would be extended to the portion <br />
