%
ORANGE COUNTY 2t.
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Action A en
Item No. i.
a
ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT
Meeting Date: AUGUST 3, 1987
SUBJECT: LAKE ORANGE FLASHBOARD CHANGE ORDER
DEPARTMENT: COUNTY MANAGER PUBLIC HEARING: Yes x No
ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: MANAGER'S
OFFICE, X501
TELEPHONE NUMBER:
Hillsborough - 732 -8181
Chapel Hill - 968-4501
Mebane - 227-2031
Durham - 688-7331
PURPOSE: To consider extending contract time for installing flashboards
on Lake Orange.
BACKGROUND: On June 16, 1987 the Board executed a contract with Crain and
Dembo Inc. to construct flashboards on Lake Orange. The
contract period is sixty days. The Lake level has to be a
minimum of 10 inches below full before construction can start.
The sixty day extension would allow the lake to drop gradually
as normal releases are made weekly. Currently the lake level
is 3 1/2 inches below full.
The extension will not change the contract amount.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve change order extending contract time sixty days
and authorize Chair to sign.
