While DOT has been responsive, visibility is poor <br /> and standing water presents a problem. The road needs to be widened and <br /> the curves straightened out. Chair Marshall pointed out that the proposed <br /> improvements include straightning out some of the curves. She asked that <br /> extra consideratin be given for eliviating some of the other dangerous <br /> problems with the road. <br /> A citizen spoke about the unpaved portion of Eubanks Road stating it <br /> was dangerous and at one intersection needs to have the brush cut to <br /> improve the site distance. <br /> RUBY CAUSLY spoke about the condition of Bushy Creek Road and was <br /> told that improvements are proposed to begin this year and will be <br /> finished next year. <br /> SIM EFLAND spoke in support of the improvements to Bushy Cook Road. <br /> In answer to a question from Commissioner Willhoit about old Highway <br /> 86, Watkins indicated that the work being performed at the present time <br /> was included in last years program. <br /> WITH NO FURTHER COMMENTS, THE PUBLIC HEARING IS CLOSED. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hartwell to approve the 1987-88 Secondary Road Improvements Program as <br /> proposed by NCDOT. <br />
