In addition <br /> to review by the County Environmental Planner, projects would <br /> be reviewed by the various State agencies. The County would <br /> have the benefit of comments from both the local and state <br /> level during the review and approval process. <br /> PROCESS OVERVIEW <br /> An Environmental Assessment (EA) , where required, would <br /> be submitted with the development applications . Review of <br /> the EA would result in issuance of a Finding of No <br /> Significant Impact (FONSI) or requirement for the developer <br /> to submit an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) . Issuance <br /> of a FONSI would end the environmental review process. <br /> Requirement for an EIS would require preparation by the <br /> applicant of an additional document which would provide input <br /> to be used in the review and approval. <br /> Development proposals meeting one or more of the <br /> criteria below would require Environmental Review: <br /> requires a permit under the North Carolina Mining <br /> Act <br /> requires a permit under the North Carolina Solid <br />
