Ronald Aycock, Executive Director <br /> DATE: August 19 , 1988 <br /> SUBJECT: Solicitation of Proposed Legislative Goals for the <br /> 1989 Session of the General Assembly <br /> DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS - September 15 , 1988 <br /> With this memorandum, the Association begins the process of developing <br /> legislative goals to be presented to the 1989 General Assembly and <br /> pursued during the 1989-90 Legislative Session. • <br /> COUNTIES AND AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS ARE ASKED TO SUBMIT ANY PROPOSED <br /> LEGISLATIVE GOALS TO THE ASSOCIATION BY SEPTEMBER 15, 1988. The <br /> proposed legislative goals, if approved by voting delegates in <br /> December, would become part of the Association' s Legislative Program. <br /> Within the next week, Association President Jack Dossenbach, Jr. will <br /> appoint a Legislative Goals Committee. This committee will meet <br /> throughout the fall to review, refine and develop legislative <br /> proposals. The committee will report to the Association' s Board of <br /> Directors in November. <br /> On December 8-9, (at the Sheraton Imperial at Research Triangle Park) <br /> at the Association' s Legislative Goals Conference, delegates will <br /> review legislative recommendations from the committee and the Board, <br /> and will adopt the Association' s 1989 Legislative Program.
