028 <br /> Dear Property Owner: <br /> A public hearing will be held on Thursday, June 30, 1988 <br /> at 7:30 p. m. at the Carrboro Elementary School on Shelton <br /> Street in Carrboro, N. C. The public hearing is being <br /> conducted in place of that previously scheduled for April 13, <br /> 1988. The previous hearing was postponed due to insufficient <br /> notice being provided to property owners. <br /> The items to be considered at the public hearing are <br /> listed below. Specific proposals may affect your property <br /> directly or you are simply being notified as a matter of <br /> courtesy because of the importance of the items in relation <br /> to the implementation of a Joint Planning Agreement between <br /> Orange County, and the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. <br /> JOINT PLANNING AREA LAND USE PLAN AND TEXT <br /> The proposed amendments to the Joint Planning Area Land <br /> Use Plan and Text are as follows: <br /> 1. A proposal to amend the Land Use Plan for the eastern <br /> portion of Bingham Township (Area within University <br /> Lake/New Hope Creek Basins) . <br /> 2. A proposal to show the location of and describe the <br /> Rural Buffer (a very low-density residential area <br /> predominantly rural in character) and the Transition <br /> Areas (projected growth areas changing from rural to <br /> urban character) for the Chapel Hill and Carrboro Joint <br /> Development Review Areas as provided in the Joint <br /> Planning Agreement adopted November 2, 1987. <br /> 3. A proposal to move the northern boundary of the <br /> Transition Areas to a set distance of 670 feet from the <br /> property line of Duke Forest. The current boundary of <br /> the Transition Area follows property lines one lot depth <br /> removed from Duke Forest and varies from 210 feet to <br /> 2, 520 feet distance from the Duke Forest border. <br /> 4. A proposal to adjust the Transition Area I boundary in <br /> the Carrboro Joint Development Review Area to follow the <br /> western right-of-way line of Old N. C. Highway 86 and the <br /> southern right-of-way line of Dairyland Road. <br /> 5. A proposal to change the land use designation on Horace <br /> Williams Airport and adjacent UNC properties from <br /> "Public-Private Open Space" to "Future UNC Development. " <br /> A proposal to extend the Joint Planning Area boundary <br /> and Rural Buffer land use designation to incorporate <br /> Stoneycreek Subdivision will not be considered. <br />
