Yes _X___No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: Planning <br /> Property Owner Notification Director <br /> Public Hearing Notices <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Hillsborough --- 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 967-9251/968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider rescheduling the Joint Planning Area and <br /> Orange County public hearings for June 30, 1988. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro have set June 30, <br /> 1988 as the date for rescheduling the Joint Planning <br /> Area and Orange County public hearings. The hearings <br /> would be conducted at 7:30 p. m. in the Carrboro <br /> Elementary School. <br /> Items scheduled for consideration and which would <br /> involve a decision by Orange County as well as the <br /> Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro include the <br /> following: <br /> - A proposed amendment to the Joint Planning Area Land <br /> Use Plan text and map to provide descriptions and <br /> show the location of Transition Areas I and II, and <br /> the Rural Buffer. <br /> - An amendment proposed by Randy Danziger, a Calvander <br /> resident, to adjust the Transition Area I boundary to <br /> follow the western right-of-way line of Old N. C. 86 <br /> south of Homestead Road. <br /> - An amendment proposed by E. K. Powe, an attorney <br /> representing property owners in the Rural Buffer, to <br /> shift the boundary of Transition Area II northward to <br /> include his clients property. The proposed amendment <br /> also seeks to provide a better definition of the <br /> Transition Area boundary as related to Duke Forest. <br />
