Tryon <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Dear Ms. Jones: <br /> North Carolina Special Olympics, Inc. seeks the approval of <br /> the Orange County Board of Commissioners for us to conduct a <br /> fireworks exhibit in conjunction with our 1988 Special Olympics <br /> State Summer Games. <br /> Per your request, the following information is provided: <br /> 1) North Carolina Special OLympics State Summer <br /> Games, May 13-15, Friday, May 13 , 1988, Opening <br /> Ceremonies, Fetzer Field, UNC-Chapel Hill. <br /> 2) Fireworks display at approximately 8:45 pm on the <br /> 13th to be fired from Ridge Road in front of <br /> Boshamer Stadium on the UNC-CH campus. Fireworks <br /> are being furnished and fired by the employees of <br /> Southern International Fireworks, Rock Hill, SC. <br /> 3) A request has been submitted to the Town of Chapel <br /> Hill to close this segment of Ridge Road from <br /> 8:30 to 9:30 pm. <br /> 4) This location is situated beyond minimal standards <br /> for safety for the crowd in Fetzer Field Stadium. <br /> Created by The Joseph P.
