O13 <br /> STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORT CONTRACT <br /> This agreement is made and entered in this <br /> by and between Orange County and Durham County Hospital Corporation. <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County and Durham County Hospital Corporation • <br /> have established a period of time in which Durham County Hospital <br /> Corporation will provide non-emergency transport service for Orange <br /> County. <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 20, Chapter 160A of N.C. General <br /> Statutes, Orange County and Durham County Hospital Corporation are <br /> empowered to enter into this agreement; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Orange County and Durham County Hospital Corporation <br /> hereby agree as follows: <br /> 1. Durham County Hospital Corporation shall, to the best of <br /> their ability, furnish equipment, supplies, and personnel deemed <br /> necessary by them for the purpose of providing non-emergency transports <br /> to persons needing assistance within Orange County. <br /> 2. Orange County shall provide non-emergency transports as <br /> described in Paragrah 1 of this agreement, Monday through Friday <br /> from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. <br /> 3. Durham County Hospital Corporation shall provide this-service <br /> from 5:30 PM until 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 7:00 AM <br /> until 11:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. • <br /> 4. The obligation of Durham County Hospital Corporation to <br /> respond to calls in accordance with this agreement shall be secondary <br /> and subordinate to their duty to furnish protection to the residents <br /> of Durham County. <br />
