ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT i 4 <br /> 306F REVERE ROAD <br /> HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br /> .r c, <br /> [_ raul <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ON <br /> PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, ZONING ORDINANCE AND <br /> SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS FOR <br /> ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of <br /> North Carolina, Chapter 153A, Sections 240, 323 and 343, and <br /> Article 20, Sections 20. 5 and 20. 6, Articles 2. 2. 12 and <br /> 2. 2. 13 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance, and Section <br /> VIII of the Orange County Subdivision Regulations, notice is <br /> hereby given that a public hearing will be held in the <br /> Superior Courtroom of the Orange County Courthouse (New) , 106 <br /> East Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Monday, <br /> May 23, 1988, at 7:30 p. m. for the purpose of giving all <br /> interested citizens an opportunity to speak for or against <br /> the following items: <br /> ORANGE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE. PLAN <br /> The proposed amendment to the Land Use Element of the <br /> Dranpe County Comprehensive Plan is as follows: <br /> 1. Amend the Land Use Element of the Dranpe County <br /> Comprehensive Plan to address changing township land use <br /> and population patterns, and in response to a five-year <br /> update schedule specified at the time of Plan adoption <br /> in 1981. Specific townships and issues to be addressed <br /> include the following: <br /> a. Section 3. 8 Cheeks Township - Protection of the <br /> Upper Eno, Cane Creek, and Back Creek watersheds; <br /> preservation of open space areas, including County- <br /> . <br /> owned lands and Moorefields; and orderly expansion <br /> of rural residential development. <br /> b. Section 3. 9 Hi l l sboraugh Township - Expansion of <br /> the Hillsborough growth area; protection of the <br /> Upper Eno watershed and Duke Forest; and <br /> preservation of rural character in the northern <br /> portion of the township. <br />
