Consideration of <br /> adoption of the Plan would occur after the hearing. <br /> Following adoption of the Preliminary Plan, efforts <br /> would be focused on producing a final version, with a <br /> tentative public hearing date set for May, 1989. A <br /> consultant would be sought to assist in developing and <br /> refining Thoroughfare Plan elements dealing with a <br /> County-specific road classification system, private <br /> road standards, scenic road standards, a secondary <br /> roads evaluation system, and a collector-subcollector <br /> road system. The employment of a consultant is proposed <br /> prior to July 1. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the proposed <br /> schedule for developing a Thoroughfare Plan for Orange <br /> County as presented by NCDOT and approval of the <br /> Planning Department work plan for developing same. <br />
