Board of Transportation adopts annually a <br /> multi-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) <br /> outlining needed highway improvements and the method <br /> and schedule for funding such projects . Prior to <br /> adopting the Program, the Board of Transportation <br /> conducts a series of meetings around the state to <br /> obtain advice from local officials and citizens on <br /> needed improvements . <br /> On May 5, 1988, a public hearing will be held at <br /> Guilford Technical Community College, Price Complex <br /> Auditorium, in Greensboro, for officials and citizens <br /> in District 7 , the district in which Orange County is <br /> located. Representatives from each of the <br /> municipalities will be presenting their requests for <br /> highway improvements to the Board of Transportation. <br /> Each year, the Chair of the Board of Commissioners has <br /> attended the hearing and spoken in support of each <br /> municipalities request as well as other needs which <br /> Commissioners have identified. <br />
