11 I <br /> 060 <br /> ORANGE C O U N T Y <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: April 19, 1988 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item # U4 <br /> SUBJECT: JOINT PLANNING AREA PUBLIC HEARING <br /> DEPARTMENT: Planning PUBLIC HEARING: <br /> Yes `X.No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: Marvin Collins <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 967-9251/968-4501 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider setting a new public hearing date on <br /> proposed amendments to the Joint Planning Area Land Use <br /> Plan, the Orange County Zoning Ordinance and Atlas, and <br /> the Land Use Element of the Orange County Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND: A public hearing had been scheduled for Wednesday, <br /> April 13, 1988, at Culbreth Junior High School in <br /> Chapel Hill for the purpose of considering proposed <br /> amendments to Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan, the <br /> Orange County Zoning Ordinance and Atlas, and the Land <br /> Use Element of the Orange County Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The public hearing was canceled because inadequate <br /> notice to affected property owners . At least fifteen <br /> (15) days notice prior to the public hearing is <br /> required by the Zoning Ordinance. The Planning <br /> Department has taken corrective action to insure that <br /> proper notification is provided hereafter. <br /> The public hearing is necessary as the next step in <br /> implementing the Joint Planning Agreement between <br /> Orange County, Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
