Subdivision Regulations Text Amendments <br /> a. Access Restrictions <br /> (1) Section IV-B-3-c-8 - Access Restrictions <br /> Staff presentation was by Eddie Kirk. <br /> This item is to receive citizen comment on <br /> proposed amendments to Section IV--B-3-c-8 <br /> (Access Restrictions) of the Subdivision <br /> Regulations . <br /> As land along major County highways develops, <br /> both the amount of traffic on such highways <br /> and the number of driveways increases . The <br /> result is increasing conflicts between <br /> vehicles turning into and exiting from <br /> driveways and through traffic. The conflicts <br /> create safety problems and could lead to <br /> eventual widening of the highways as a means <br /> of resolving the <br /> g problems. <br /> Increasing concerns about the effects of <br /> driveways on major highways in Orange County <br /> prompted the Planning Board to draft proposals <br /> which would strengthen access restrictions for <br /> parcels of land created during the subdivision <br /> review and approval process.
