PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO: X <br /> ATTACBMEMT(S) : Proclamation INFORMATION CONTACT: Tara Fikes <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To proclaim April 2-9, 1988 as Community Development Week <br /> in Orange County to recognize the significant contribution <br /> the Community Development Block Grant program has provided <br /> to the low and moderate income residents of Orange County. <br /> BACKGROUND: The National Community Development Association, the U.S. <br /> Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities and <br /> the National Association of Counties are continuing efforts <br /> in support of National Community Development Week - April <br /> 2-9, 1988. They are urging all cities and counties to <br /> support this week by proclaiming Community Development Week <br /> in their respective localities. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Adopt proclamation designating April 2-9, 1988 as <br /> Community Development Week and authorize the <br /> chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of the board. <br />
