2 <br /> 075 recreation, transportation, housing, open space, <br /> economic development, services and facilities, and <br /> additional elements as needed. <br /> Proposed amendments to Article 2 .2 . 12 through 2 .2 . 14 <br /> of the Zoning Ordinance would re-define the purpose, <br /> intent, and method of adoption of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> Article 2 .2 . 12 of the Zoning Ordinance, if amended, <br /> would provide that one element of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan be a Land Use Element which designates the <br /> general distribution, location, and extent of the uses <br /> of land for housing, business, industry, open space, <br /> education, public buildings and grounds, and other <br /> categories of public and private uses. <br /> Article 2 .2 . 13 of the Zoning Ordinance, if amended, <br /> would provide that the Board of Commissioners, upon <br /> receipt of a recommended Comprehensive Plan or <br /> portions thereof from the Planning Board, adopt them <br /> by resolution. <br /> The Orange County Land Use Plan adopted on September <br /> 2, 1981 as amended, fulfills the purpose and intent of <br /> the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Adoption of the attached draft resolution would <br /> implement the Zoning Ordinance amendments through re- <br /> adoption and designation of the Orange County Land Use <br /> Plan as the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan. <br /> At its March 21, 1988 meeting, the Planning Board <br /> recommended approval of the resolution. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the draft <br /> resolution per the Planning Board recommendation. <br />
