The Orange County Commission for Women has been awarded <br /> a mini-grant from the NC Council on the Status of Women. <br /> This grant is in the amount of $500 and will be utilized <br /> to 1) host a conference on women and finances and 2) <br /> produce a brochure which explains property rights and <br /> marriage contracts . No County match is required. <br /> 2 . The Department of Social Services has received an Emer- <br /> gency Food and Shelter Grant. The total grant amount is <br /> $5,900 . 25 and no County match is required. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve motion to amend the 1987-88 Budget Ordinance <br /> by the proposed amendments . <br />
