For example: Sixty-five percent of <br /> employable low-income youth ages 16-21 in Michael County have difficulty <br /> complete a separate Problem Identification and Analysis(Section II), Project o Work Plan (Section III), and yVISTA <br /> identify, <br /> Volunteer Assignment Description(Section IV). Make as many copies of these sections as you need. <br /> 1. Provide an overview of the purpose of the VISTA project to Include: Overall population statistics of the service area; <br /> percentage of low-Income people;what VISTA Volunteers are requested to do;how the low-Income community will <br /> benefit from the VISTA project, <br /> be,. The VISTA Volunteer will address the problem of eligible low income families not <br /> -be ng- aware of nor seeking out available <br /> government. Orange County has a total public benefit services from County - <br /> as low income. The VISTA project would improve othe f 9a�ty of 20% identified <br /> families by encouraging the greater use of existing erity sf life for low income <br /> ttig services. <br /> 2.Stale In qunntifable and measurable terms the specific problem the VISTA project will address,Including the number <br /> of low-Income people directly affected by the problem. <br /> It is estimated that 500 low income families in Orange County are eligible for <br /> several public benefit services such as food stamps, energy assistance, medicaid, <br /> ✓ elderly nutrition, home care yet for various reasons donot receive them. <br /> • <br /> 3.ff VISTA Volunteers will be assigned to organizations other than yours,last those organizations,and provide a letter <br /> of support from the hoard of Directors of each organization. <br /> 4.If other organizations are addressing the problem described hi number 2,Indicate any plans to coordinate the VISTA <br /> Project with these organizations. <br /> The County Human Services Management Team composed <br /> concerned with addressing this problem .
