O R A N G E C O U N T Y 060
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT
Meeting Date March 15 . 1988
Action ggnda
Item #13
SUBJECT: JAMES MARK VINE SUBDIVISION - PRELIMINARY PLAN
ACTION BY: March 22, 1988
DEPARTMENT: PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING Yes X No
ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: Emily Crudup
Application
Vicinity Map
Preliminary Plan
Preliminary Plan Certification
12-31-88 Letter from Applicant Regarding Road Status
5-20-86 Board of County Commissioners Minutes
Agency Comments
5-16-86 Letter from County Attorney
2-15-88 Draft Planning Board Minutes
TELEPHONE NUMBERS:
Hillsborough - 732-8181
Durham - 688-7331
Mebane - 227-2031
Chapel Hill - 968-4501
PURPOSE: Consideration of the preliminary plan for the subdivision of
the James Mark Vine property.
BACKGROUND: The property is located in Chapel Hill Township on the south
side of Cheyenne Drive west of NC Highway 86. The tract is
part of Acres of New Hope Subdivision. It is zoned Rural
Buffer/Major Transportation Corridor and designated as Rural
Residential on the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan. The
total acreage of the tract is 4 .40 acres. Two lots are
proposed, each over two acres in size.
Both lots are served by Cheyenne Drive. identified
previously as a pre-existing public road (refer to attached
minutes from the May 20 . 1986 County Commissioners meeting
and the May 16 , 1986 letter of the County Attorney) . In
this case. "pre-existing public" indicates that a public
road right-of-way has been dedicated but not accepted by any
public agency. Cheyenne Drive is currently maintained to
Class C standards by adjacent property owners who have
recorded a road maintenance agreement in the Orange County
Register of Deeds.
All applicable agencies have reviewed the proposed
subdivision.
