Greensboro Street
Carrboro, N.C. 27510
942-4168
MEMORANDUM
Daniel Reimer,-MPH
Health Director
TO: ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING STAFF
FROM: RON HOLDWAY, R. S. --
DATE: FEBRUARY 26, 1988
RE: ALBERT REEVES ESTATE
Subsequent to your memo on the above referenced estate, I will address
your questions concerning primary and repair field areas.
First, we denote the approximate area for the initial field and repair
field on our plat. This information would not be sufficient for
a surveyor to denote these areas by metes and bounds on a plat.
In order for a surveyor to map usable soils for primary and repair
areas on individual lots, a small scale grid with accurately
referenced property and set-back lines would be necessary. This
grid would allow our staff to reference specific usable areas by
using grid coordinates. I do not believe that such a grid would
be difficult for a surveyor to complete.
However, such a system would require considerably more staff time
(perhaps 2-3 times as much) and our staff could not meet such demands
at present staff levels. Also, such a system would require
considerable more surveyor time and expense.
Please call if you have any questions concerning this matter.
cc: Mr. C. A.
