Miller Road Paving Request • <br /> Susan Smith reported that the Orange County Board of Education <br /> purchased land along the unpaved portion of Miller Road for construction of <br /> houses under a vocational program and have submitted a request to have the <br /> section of Miller Road from SR 1588 north of SR 1554, a distance of 1.5 miles <br /> paved. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Walker, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Lloyd to request NCDOT to reevaluate the data (number of houses, average daily <br /> traffic count, uses along roads, school bus route, and general route <br /> characteristics) upon which the paving priority for Miller Road is determined. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> 4. Hydrant and_t re ServiceSharaes. <br /> Motion was made by Chair Willhoit, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Whitted that OWASA maintain their responsibility to provide the hydrants and <br /> to bill and collect for those under their current satuatory authority. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> 5. €hgapht an <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Whitted, seconded by. Commissioner <br /> Marshall to approve a resolution urging the North Carolina General Assembly to <br /> enact legislation requiring the exclusive statewide use of phosphate-free <br /> laundry detergents. (see # in the permanent file for a copy of this <br /> resolution) . <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS . <br />
