Dr. Ira Trollinger
Page 2
March 1, 1988
afford to lose valuable class time transporting students during
construction of our houses.
In addition to project house activities at Panther Court, we are using a part
of the property for a field laboratory for our production agricultural education
students. Approximately 100 students in grades 10-12 prepare the land, cultivate
and plant one acre of field corn annually. The resulting crop is gathered,
taken to the mill for grinding and bagging, and used as a feed supplement for
the hogs in our Orange High School Agricultural Education Hog Project. These
students and their teacher are also subjected to the dust from Miller Road.
I suggest that we solicit the assistance and support of appropriate N. C.
Department of Transportation officials and members of the Orange County Board
of Commissioners in order to get Miller Road paved at the earliest possible date.
MIJG/jp
CC: Dr. Steve Halkiotis, Principal of Orange High School
e rE'
