ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
073 306F REVERE ROAD
HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278
ti, ill
a'oiuy
January 27 , 1988
Mr. J . M. M i l l s, P. E.
District Engineer
State Of North Carolina
Department of Transportation
Graham, North Carolina 27253-0766
Dear Mr. Mills :
Re: Wildwood Drainage Study
Enclosed is a copy of the Wildwood Drainage Study
prepared by Hazen 8 Sawyer, P. C. , consulting engineers.
Also enclosed is a response to the study prepared by Fritz
Brunssen, engineer for the developer.. The study was initially
requested by Orange County to address citizen concerns
involving drainage problems in Wildwood Subdivision.
As you are aware, the developer of the project has
petitioned the N. C. Department of Transportation to take over
the streets for maintenance purposes. The petition has been
forwarded to Orange County for review and comment by the
Board of Commissioners.
Based on a review of the enclosed documents, Orange
County would like answers to following questions prior to
acting on the petition.
1 . Were construction details and drainage plans for
streets in the various sections and/or phases of
Wildwood Subdivision approved by the N. C.
Department of Transportation ( NCDOT) ?
2. Can Orange County obtain copies of the approved
plans and details?
3. Does your recommendation for addition to the
secondary roads system signify that the streets, as
constructed , meet NCDOT minimum standards for
construction and drainage?
