FAA application will be filed within the month. <br /> The County can expect a funding-decision from the State by May <br /> 1, 1988. There is a possibility we may also receive notifi- <br /> cation from FAA by June 30, 1988, but positively prior to <br /> December 31, 1988. The fact that FAA is expressing any <br /> interest in funding the Planning phase of our project is an <br /> unexpected bonus. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Approve Planning/Engineering contract with Wilbur Smith and <br /> Associates, contingent upon approval of contracts by State and <br /> FAA and upon funding by State, Federal and local sources; and <br /> authorize the Chair to sign funding applications for the plan- <br /> ning phase of the Orange County Airport project, North <br /> Carolina Department of Transportation, Aviation Division a <br /> total of $45,787.50 for Phase I; and Federal Aeronautics <br /> Administration a total of $136. 044. <br />
