Horner <br /> Report <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER: Ext A32 <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> 1- To report the amount on current unpaid Real Property <br /> Taxes as of January 31, 1988 . <br /> 2- To recommend the date for the Tax Lien Advertisement. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Mandatory per General Statute 105-369 <br /> On the first Monday in February in each year, each <br /> county tax collector and on the second Monday in February <br /> in each year, each municipal tax collector shall report to <br /> the governing body the total amount of unpaid taxes for the <br /> current fiscal year that are liens on real property, and the <br /> governing body shall thereupon order the tax collector to <br /> advertise such tax liens . For purposes of this section, <br /> district taxes collected by county tax collectors shall be <br /> regarded as county taxes and district taxes collected by <br /> municipal tax collectors shall be regarded as municipal <br /> taxes . <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Accept report and set the Tax Lien Sale date for May 11,1988. <br />
