Commission for Women Bylaws - page 4 107 <br /> authority to transact business between meetings; make <br /> recommendations regarding the policies and procedures of <br /> the Commission; advise the Chair; provide guidance in <br /> the development of strategic plans and annual <br /> objectives; suggest programs to carry out these plans <br /> and objectives during regular Commission meetings; <br /> recommend changes in the bylaws subject to the adoption <br /> by the Commission and approval of the County <br /> Commissioners; undertake those duties relevant to the <br /> Coordinator as described in Article VII, Section 3; and <br /> make recommendations to the Commission for Women to <br /> forward to the County Commissioners. Should a tie vote <br /> occur, the issue shall be brought before the entire <br /> Commission. All business transacted by the Executive <br /> Committee shall be reported to the Commission <br /> membership. <br /> Section 2. Nominating Committee. The Commission Chair shall appoint <br /> the Nominating Committee Chair and the Vice-chair shall <br /> appoint two additional members at the May meeting. See <br /> further duties described at Article V, Sections 2 and 3. <br /> Section 3. Legislative Committee. The Commission shall establish a <br /> standing committee to review pertinent local, state and <br /> federal legislation and to recommend appropriate actions <br /> to the Commission (such as lobbying, letter writing, <br /> phone calling, etc. ) . <br /> Section 4. Formation of Ad Hoc Committees. The Chair shall <br /> establish other committees as deemed necessary and <br /> appoint members and any officers to carry out the <br /> charges for which the committee was formed. The Chair <br /> may disband a Committee or order it reconstituted if <br /> the Committee, by vote of the majority of the rest of <br /> the Commission, fails to carry out its charge to the <br /> Commission members ' satisfaction. <br /> Section 5. Membership. Citizens who are not members of the <br /> Commission may be Committee members, however, Committee <br /> Chairs must always be Commission members, appointed by <br /> the Chair . <br /> Article VII . Coordinator <br /> Section 1. Duties. The Coordinator shall handle the daily business <br /> of the Commission; supervise office staff; prepare and <br /> present a quarterly report to the Commission; prepare an <br /> annual budget and biennial report for submission to the <br /> County Commissioners; with the Chair, update the meeting <br /> agenda; and keep members informed of current information <br /> relevant to the status of women.
