-3- <br /> 007 <br /> 13. Assists the county hazardous materials team in planning and developing <br /> training. <br /> 14. Assists the hazardous materials team in developing and maintaining training <br /> programs, equipment, etc. <br /> 15. Coordinates special emergency management projects as required by the <br /> emergency services director. <br /> 16. Assists in emergency planning and coordination for disasters. <br /> 17. Assists in the identification of local resources for use during emergency <br /> situations. <br /> 18. Assists the fire departments in meeting the requirements to reduce the <br /> protection class for their districts and thus lower the fire insurance premiums <br /> for the citizens in the districts. At present, all the rural fire departments <br /> except White Cross (newly established) has a protection class: 9. It is possible <br /> to achieve a class 7 rating for rural fire departments. This would result in a <br /> savings of approximately $100.00 annually on fire insurance premiums on a <br /> $100,000.00 structure. (see attached illustrations) <br /> The cost for this position would include salary, housing, transportation <br /> and miscellaneous. <br /> ANTICIPATED COST <br /> Salary, fringe benefits $ 25,488.00 <br /> Transportation 1,500.00 <br /> Telephone 750.00 <br /> Travel & Training 1,500.00 <br /> Postage 500.00 <br /> Printing 250.00 <br /> Office Supplies 250.00 <br /> Uniforms 250.00 <br /> Dues & Subscriptions 250.00 <br /> Office Equipment 750.00 <br /> Vehicle 12,250.00 <br /> Radios 5,000.00 <br /> Total 48,988.00 <br /> Funding for this position could come from: <br /> 1. General Tax Revenue <br /> 2. Fire Tax Revenue <br /> 3. A combination of general and fire tax revenue from each district. <br /> This employee could be housed in the County Emergency Services facility <br /> and be under the Office of Emergency Services. <br />
