PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, the 17th. day of September, 1987 marks the 200th. anniversary of <br /> the United States Constitution, and affords the citizens of Orange County <br /> to join with all Americans in a celebration of citizenship. We salute the <br /> Constitution as one designed by its authors to be flexible in application <br /> and effect as we advance in social conscience, service and our responsibility <br /> in the family of nations. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, we hereby resolve and proclaim September, 1987 CONSTITUTIONAL <br /> MONTH in Orange County, North Carolina. As heirs of a stable government, <br /> insuring the blessings of a free and responsible society, we urge all civic <br /> and service clubs, all schools and public officials, private and public <br /> organizations and citizens to publicity and privately demonstrate their <br /> appreciation of citizenship under our constitution. We further urge all <br /> citizens to rededicate their responsibilities to keep our constitution <br /> viable and our best guarantee for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. <br /> RESOLVED AND PROCLAIMED by the Board of County Commissioners for Orange <br /> County, North Carolina this the 18th day of August, 1987. <br /> // <br /> Chair - ao 'd of County Commissioners, <br /> Orange County, North Carolina. <br />
