19t <br /> AGREEMENT FOR THE SALE OF WATER <br /> BETWEEN THE TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH <br /> AND THE CITY OF DURHAM <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> DURHAM COUNTY <br /> This AGREEMENT, made and entered into in duplicate originals this <br /> the day of 19 , by and between <br /> the TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH, hereinafter referred to TOWN, party of <br /> the first part; and the CITY OF DURHAM, hereinafter referred to <br /> as CITY, party of the second part; <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> That WHEREAS, the TOWN owns and operates a water supply, <br /> filtration and distribution system serving customers in its <br /> service area in Hillsborough and surrounding areas in Orange <br /> County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY owns and operates a water supply, filtration <br /> and distribution system serving customers in its service area in <br /> the City of Durham and outlying areas ; and <br /> WHEREAS, during periods of dry weather, the TOWN has experienced <br /> a shortage in the public water supply available for distribution <br /> to and use by the people it serves; and <br /> WHEREAS, the TOWN desires to obtain additional water supply to <br /> meet the needs of its customers; and <br />
