Piney Mountain Cluster - Preliminary <br /> (Chapel Hill Township ) <br /> Jacobs asked if a Duke Forest respresentative <br /> had been contacted by the Planning Staff since <br /> this proposed development adjoins Duke Forest. <br /> The response was no. Jacobs continued that he <br /> felt the application was incomplete and consid- <br /> eration should be deferred until such time as <br /> comment has been received from Duke Forest <br /> representatives. <br /> Jacobs continued suggesting that discussion be <br /> held in order to expedite proceedings at the <br /> August 17th meeting. <br /> The developer, Mark O' Neal , asked what made the <br /> application incomplete. Jacobs responded that <br /> on requests that have adjoined Duke Forest <br /> Lands in at least the past year, the Planning <br /> Board has referred the application to Duke <br /> Forest managers for their comments due to the <br /> Board ' s environmental concerns and the desire <br /> to work with Duke Forest. <br /> Mr . O' Neal continued that he was very environ- <br /> mentally conscious and that he felt all the <br /> appropriate steps had been taken in view of any <br /> long range planning by Duke Forest. <br /> Jacobs indicated that the Planning Staff should <br /> have informed Mr. O' Neal of the Board ' s desire <br /> for Duke Forest comments. Mr . O' Neal asked if <br /> it would then be possible to deal with just <br /> Phase I . Jacobs responded that the entire <br /> project could be discussed and any other <br /> concerns could be noted by Board members. This <br /> would give the developer the opportunity to <br />
