Memorandum - July 14 , 1987 <br /> Board of Commissioners <br /> i'age 3 <br /> 8. Create a "Critical School Facilit Needs Fund" to <br /> provide <br /> grants to counties with the greatest school facility needs <br /> and limited local revenue capability. The count <br /> are to be determined by an independent commissions Itlisble <br /> not known at this time which counties might be eligible but <br /> it is not expected that Orange County would be one of them. <br /> No local match is required for grants from this fund. <br /> Attached is a table showing preliminary estimates of Orange <br /> County ' s share of the Public School Building Capital Fund <br /> for the next 6 fiscal years . Th <br /> the bottom of the The amounts penciled in at <br /> the funds . page are the local match required to receive <br /> Other bills still alive that may have some interest for Oran ge County <br /> regarding other infrastructure needs are summarized below: <br /> 1 . H847 and SB40 - Incentive construction <br /> to house misdemeanants in satellite grants to counties <br /> centers - This bill has jails/work release <br /> appropriations bill, The passed but is dependent upon a companion <br /> known at this time , prospects for this funding is not <br /> 2 . SH236 - Loan pool for infrastructure needs for an <br /> which local governments may issue bonds i aY perpose for <br /> Senate Finance committee . It is expected tobreezethroughhe <br /> the Senate but will probably meet opposition in the House. <br />
