2 <br /> grantee, franchisee or permittee, in order to do business in the <br /> unincorporated areas of the county. The CATV system and service <br /> herein franchised shall be used and operated solely and <br /> exclusively for the purpose expressly authorized by ordinance of <br /> the county and no other purpose whatsoever. The term of this <br /> franchise shall commence upon the acceptance by the grantee, as <br /> provided in Section VI of the ordinance, of this franchise and <br /> shall terminate at midnight, February 24, 1996. <br /> Section II . Renewal. <br /> The franchise may be renewed for an additional period of ten <br /> (10) years upon terms satisfactory to both the county and the <br /> grantee. <br /> Section III . Nonexclusive. <br /> The franchise shall be nonexclusive, and the county reserves <br /> the right to grant similar franchises to any person or persons at <br /> any period during the present franchise or any extension thereof. <br /> Section IV. Construction of system. <br /> Grantee shall obtain the proper permission and authority <br /> from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, or other <br /> agency of competent jurisdiction, and where appropriate, private <br /> land owners before any cable or other equipment necessary and <br />
